Repurposing
Seeing as AudioBlogger is long defunct (since around 2006, apparently!), I've repurposed this blog for slightly more serious things.
My long-abandoned LJ will remain in case I feel like spilling my innermost, but this blog in particular will be for non-personal use.
What precisely do I mean by non-personal? Well, I mean you won't have to sift through a mire of irritatingly self-congratulatory pap and self-loathing to find something interesting to read. I am a woman of varied interests; to this end, I will keep record of thoughts or projects that I may be working on. Bear in mind, not everything will be to one reader's taste, unless that reader happens to love absolutely everything that I love. Given that there's only one of me, I find it doubtful.
I like weird combinations of things, I do.
First and foremost on my list of things to do with this blog is to share some of my better recipes. My diet is far from varied - I'd be happy to subsist on different variations of rice and beans with just about any type of meat to go with it. However, when I do get around to putting slightly more effort into my meals, I daresay the effect is rather satisfying. So prepare for dishes involving eggplant, copious amounts of garlic, and lots and lots of meat. My recipes are not fit for the faint of heart (or stomach).
As to other things that will be addressed in this blog...well, we'll get there when we get there. (This is my way of saying that I have no idea what else to post about here!) Probably you'll see some ruminations about language, gaming, TV, and crochet/knitting. Or maybe you won't. Part of the excitement about this blog for me is the element of unknown.
And finally, let's address the name of this little endeavour. In its first incarnation, this blog was called "Diaphanous Rhapsodies." Years later, I have to admit that I only chose it because it sounded nice. At this point it sounds like a teenager's affectation of poetic worldliness. But, alas, I do not think I can come up with anything better. Thus, this blog shall remain Diaphanous Rhapsodies until such a time that I can come up with a satisfactory alternative.
Okay! That's the general introductions out of the way. Next post will likely be a more in depth examination of my cookery methods, before I jump into recipes proper.
Cheers!
